You are receiving this as you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Elsdon Grove BD5.

Burglary Alert - Overnight 7th August to 8th August 2026

Residents are being advised to remain vigilant following a burglary reported within the local area.

The occupant left their home at approximately 5:00pm on Friday 7 August 2026 to stay elsewhere overnight. Upon returning at approximately 1:45pm on Saturday 8 August 2026, they discovered that a rear window had been smashed and left wide open.

Items were stolen and some have been recovered thankfully.

It is believed the offender(s) gained entry via the damaged rear window sometime between 5:00pm on 7 August and 1:45pm on 8 August 2026.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity, unknown persons, or vehicles in the area during this time period to come forward.

Crime Prevention Advice

Ensure all windows and doors are closed and secured when leaving your property.

Consider using timer switches on lights when away from home.

Keep valuable items out of sight.

Report any suspicious persons or vehicles to police at the time they are seen.

If you have CCTV, doorbell footage, or dashcam recordings covering the overnight period of 7-8 August 2026, please check for anything unusual.

If you have any information in relation to the above please contact the Police on 101 or speak to a local PCSO. Please also check your CCTV or Doorbell camera if you have one during the crime timings to see if there are any activations.
